I’ve been playing around more with AI tools, and recently discovered a fun way to use your voice to talk to a “conversational AI”. The cool thing about it, is that it can respond back to you using its own voice. This uses (NLP) natural language processing, which is the ability for computers to understand meaning from spoken language.
oobabooga! I’ve been using the “text-generation-webui” by “oobabooga”, which is a “gradio” web UI for running “Large Language Models”.
Screen Tearing on NVIDIA One of the most annoying things that has bugged me for years while using an NVIDIA graphics card with Linux is the screen tearing which happens while gaming or watching videos. You can see if your current setup suffers from this by viewing the example video below in full screen.
If you see breaks in the black lines while they are scrolling, then you have screen tearing too.

UPDATE 📝 22/08/2021: This guide is outdated. You no longer need to manually fiddle with this Proton prefix in order to play the game. I have tested this from a bare installation using “Proton 6.3-6” and the game installs and plays fine. I’ve left this article visible to show the rapid progression of gaming on Linux.
